Dynamic Solvency Intelligence ASBL
A Luxembourg non-profit research initiative studying how prevention evidence can be relied upon in insurance and reinsurance decisions.
The party claiming a prevention benefit, the party funding it and the party relying on it can have different incentives. A research setting with no financial interest in whether any effect is recognised lets the evidence, its limits and its governance be examined on their merits.
A research programme, carried out in the open
Research
Protocol design, statistical method and synthetic testing, with the maturity of each component stated publicly.
Collaboration
Work with academic statisticians and, increasingly, health economists and epidemiologists, each discipline keeping ownership of its methods.
Dissemination
Papers and presentations at international actuarial forums: the 2nd Joint Colloquium of IAA Sections (JoCo 2025) ↗ in São Paulo, the Asian Actuarial Conference 2026 ↗ in Singapore, and the 33rd International Congress of Actuaries ↗ in Tokyo.
Amir’s path into this work began in health rather than insurance. His first idea was to build a health centre in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, his grandfather’s home town. During the pandemic, he co-founded Syncreny, a venture in cardiovascular prevention.
Working on prevention from the provider side showed him how hard it is for its value to be recognised by those who finance care. Returning to actuarial work, he met the same problem from the other side. DSI grew from the space between the two.
He is an actuary with fifteen years in non-life insurance and reinsurance, spanning Solvency II capital modelling, treaty pricing and structuring, and actuarial governance. He has worked for insurers and reinsurers and in consulting, in London, Paris, Luxembourg and Brussels, and currently holds an actuarial function role in reinsurance. He holds an MSc in Actuarial Science from HEC Lausanne.
Amir’s work on DSI is carried out in a personal capacity and has been disclosed to his employer.
Privacy and responsible use
The protocol works with cohort and portfolio evidence. Data governance, lawful basis, confidentiality and data-sharing arrangements stay with the institutions and qualified functions responsible for them.
Governance
DSI ASBL is an association sans but lucratif registered in Luxembourg (RCS F15185) and governed by its board under Luxembourg law. Its work is offered as research; decisions on pricing, reinsurance, accounting or capital rest with institutions and their supervisors.
Correspondence
Researchers, actuarial bodies and health economists are welcome to get in touch about the work. Papers are shared on request.
